April 12, 1933 Chicago Cubs vs Cardinals Warneke 4 Hits Dizzy Dean – Opening Day Ticket

On Opening Day, April 12, 1933, Warneke and his Arkansas buddy, Dizzy Dean of the Cardinals, were the attractions at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Lon muted the St Louis Cardinals as he hurled a four hit, 3-0 shutout in front of 25,000 fans. The 1933 season was underway and this was be the first win of 18 wins on the season for the Arkansas Hummingbird that would see him selected to the first Major League All-Star game in 1933.

Offered is a ticket stub that was originally glued into one of Lon Warneke’s personal scrapbooks.  One of a kind as you can see a faint stamp that read “COMP” for his wife.
