August 3, 1955 Milwaukee Braves vs Brooklyn Dodgers Stub – Gil Hodges Grand Slam Home Run

On August 3, 1955 the visiting Brooklyn Dodgers (who would go on to win their only World Series title of the 1950’s) beat the Milwaukee Braves 9-6 in front of 42,747 fans at County Stadium. Don Bessent took his record to 4-0 with a SAVE by Clem Labine.  Ray Crone was the losing pitcher.

Gil Hodges had a magical day with 2 Home Runs (including a grand slam), Don Zimmer would also hit a Homer.  It seemed like everything went right that day for the Brooklyn Bums.  Road ticket stubs for the ’55 Dodgers are tough to find!
