Don Huston Signed AUTO 1946 SPORT Magazine Photo with Curly Lambeau PSA/DNA
Donald Montgomery Hutson (d 1997) was the first star split end in NFL history. He is considered by many to have been the first modern receiver. In his senior season at the University of Alabama in 1934, Hutson was a first team All-American and he joined the Green Bay Packers in 1935, playing for 11 seasons. Hutson is credited with creating many of the modern pass routes used in the NFL today. He was the dominant receiver of his day and is widely considered to be one of the greatest receivers in NFL history, holding almost all important receiving records at the time of his retirement. He was named the NFL's all-time end in 1969 and he still held many of those records as of the end of the 2012 NFL season. He was inducted into the Pro Football HOF in their inaugural class.
Offered is an 8.5” x 11” photo pulled from the December 1946 issue of Sport Magazine kneeling with Packers’ head coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Curly Lambeau. Signed in black ink with a nice vintage Huston signature.
