Randy Macho Man Savage WWF Wrestler Original 1973 Minor League Baseball Lineup Card Signed by Jimmy Piersall + Program & Archive

Before Randy "Macho Man" Savage — Born Randall Marlo Poffo — entered the squared circle and was considered one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, he was an aspiring baseball player. Signed by the St. Louis Cardinals organization as a catcher right after high school, Savage would ultimately play as an outfielder in both the Cardinals and Reds farm systems. Savage, whose last year in the minors was in 1974 playing for the Tampa Tarpons, batted .254 with 16 home runs and 129 RBIs in four minor league seasons.

Offered is an 8 1/2 x 11-inch Orangeburg Cardinals 1973 Official Program and a pink lineup card signed by manager Jim Peirsall featuring Savage. The program stands in overall good condition, and the lineup card is on a pink slip of paper, with the batting order and Piersall’s signature in blue ink. Included in this lot are newspaper clippings that mention Savage (Poffo) that are toned.

This has to be one of the most unique Baseball and Professional Wrestling Crossover finds that we’ve encountered.
